Speech Therapist Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist (SLP) to join our healthcare team. In this role, the SLP will provide specialized speech and language to patients recovering from surgery, injury, or neurological conditions. We are looking for a professional with strong clinical expertise, a compassionate approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with nurses, occupational therapists, and other rehabilitation staff. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ communication, swallowing, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess patients’ speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide therapy sessions to improve communication, cognitive skills, and swallowing function.
- Document patient progress, adjust therapy plans as needed, and communicate updates to the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide patient and family education on exercises, strategies, and home programs.
- Collaborate with nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
- Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a supportive, patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality patient care with empathy and professionalism
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Comfortable working with a diverse patient population
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced rehabilitation setting
